2nd story is up

Here's the second story, as mentioned in the last post, it's just a partial second story, covering the middle 1/3 or so of the first floor.

i'm in one of the upstairs bedrooms looking at our back 'yard'. this is where many many loads of dirt was taken from this hillside to create our driveway and for building up the ground around our house... once all that is complete (the house still needs some dirt around it), then this backside of the house will be reshaped. Although now that we know we're expecting a boy, this would be the perfect huge sandbox/mudpit for him to play in....

the guys have been working till well after dark with the goal of getting it under roof before snow comes. Thanksgiving was a no work day for Aaron and I as we were at my parents house (his family did work on it some that day though!). But Friday, was a 13 hour work day, trying to get the sheeting on the second story so that trusses could go up Saturday.

Saturday morning they finished up the other side.

brother-in-law and friend john rigged up the dozer so that they could get the trusses over and up on the house

the 50 foot trusses extend about 8 feet on both the front and back that will be our wrap around porch eventually

kyler and my parents came to help with the trusses, kyler is leaning out our office/misc room, living room/front door is the left side with the trusses

with it getting dark so early now, work on the hill looks like this most evenings

It's 8:32pm Thursday night as i type this..... they are still working over on the hill putting trusses on the second story! hope to get pictures this weekend.
