Memorial Day

Memorial Day we had several families over for a cookout and volleyball.

After the rain cleared the boys wanted to go fishing. Outside of family, only one brave soul ventured out with the boys.
They all seem happy
and not at all concerned that the back of the boat looks a little heavy.
Karter, afraid of nothing, is only concerned with fishing.
Then his shoes start getting wet.

So they encourage him to switch sides. (All the moms on the deck are encouraging them head for the pier which they do not do). Karter catches a small bluegill and the fish slaps around my brother and nephew....

One second excited about the fish, the next noticing water coming into the boat....

Apparently at this point he was saying (roughly every 5 seconds) that water was coming into the boat. He may say he's afraid of nothing, but i think his face and pointing finger are proof he was getting worried. They headed to the pier and caught a bass (while the pole was lying on the pier, unattended). Karter was not heavy enough to weigh down the boat that much, apparently water was leaking into the boat cavity.

the unconcerned boaters (sorry for the geranium bloom in the picture, it was in the foreground)
