Last week Mom and Dad were aboard the Veendam- a Holland America Alaskan cruise. Here are some of my favorite pictures.
Taken from the train
On the train from Anchorage to Seward, the conductor came and talked to them.
From the cruise.

One day on land they did a wilderness 'field trip'.
Speedy- an adolescent bear caught a salmon and carried it across the road (below)

Speedy swimming
These Humpback Whales were Bubble Net Feeding

In order to get an idea of the size of Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, I posted this next picture. There is a wee little man standing at the middle of the base of this water fall.
That same waterfall is on the right, and the Glacier on the left.

WOW!!! Alaska is beautiful!! Your Mom did a great job capturing the scenery. Thanks for sharing these pics.
Oh, wow! Alaska is one of our dream trips. What a great treat after all she has been through. Beautiful pix! Did she take your camera?
Yes, Mom took my camera. She didn't want to at first since it's kinda big but I insisted she take it and the extra zoom lens. She's now glad she learned how to use it! Dad's been wanting to go since he retired 7 years ago... but with two deaths, one birth, heart attack and breast cancer in the family it just took that long to do it! It's beautiful there, as you can see, but one thing they learned was the sun rarely shines, and it rains a lot.
WOW! the pics are breathtaking!
