I consider it educational. Cracking open bird eggs is something we use to do as kids and now my nephews are doing it. The boys were in the boat last weekend and my brother found some nests along the edge. The first nest had eggs further along in development than the above eggs. No eyes forming in these, they were just yolks. Don't feel bad for these black birds, had they survived they'd only been hunted down by my brother later this year.
Some irises blooming... so far only the purple ones.
