For a couple months now we had been planning 2 days of girl time with Mom. The guys in the family (minus Karter) were scheduled go to the Penn State vs. Ohio State men's basketball game in PA. The guys go to a home game or two every year but couldn't get tickets this year, so my brother and I took the chance of finding away tickets for Feb 14th. Last night was the game. This was back in December the tickets were ordered. Then in January when mom was diagnosed and her chemo wasn't scheduled right away we were excited that we'd get to spend 2 days with Mom and do some fun things before treatments started. Then the snow/ice had to come and the guys couldn't go to the game and Mom couldn't come here. Because she wasn't going to be here yesterday and today like planned, her first chemo treatment is this afternoon.
We didn't have girl time with Mom but we did have a slumber party with another girl! Our good friend Karen lives close by and decided to come visit us Tuesday ... it was still snowing when she planned to come but the freezing rain started on her walk over. We tried to call her and tell her not to come because we thought she was driving but then i saw someone walking outside and it was Karen! She had walked the mile (or more) over and she arrived with ice frozen to her coat! She and Karter painted and played and we watched movies and she spent the night and walked home Wednesday morning.

Ready for a bath! What Karter looks like after painting.

What a neat picture of the ice on the car door! I've tagged you at my blog, by the way... feel free to ignore if you're too wrapped up with your mom's treatment.
