Burmese children on the rubber plantation

This girl came to meet us everyday but only once did we see her smile. One day when we pulled in, she had the biggest grin.... too bad we didn't get a picture of it.
We found it hard to believe these boys were around 12 years old. They were eager to learn and 'came to class' (walked out to the truck and this 'bench') everyday!
We had afternoon lessons so that Theo (wearing yellow shorts) and some of the other boys could come. They work nights and mornings on the plantations.
Stringing beads for bracelets. They are using the 5 colors of beads used in the Wordless book. Later they learn about the colors (gold, white, black, red, green) and their meanings.
